FAQ

Common questions

Engineered vs. solid: what is the difference?

Engineered floors are more stable than solid in high-moisture areas, over concrete, below grade and over radiant heat, because of their multi-ply construction.

Oil vs. lacquer finish?

Lacquer (UV polyurethane) sits on top of the wood and seals it; it is the tougher finish for moderate to heavy traffic. Oil soaks into the fibers and is easier to spot-repair.

What is cross lamination?

A European Oak top lamella bonded to a hardwood substrate with grain running crosswise, which limits expansion and contraction on wide planks.
